5 Booties You Need for Fall

Booties are the staple shoe to every fall and winter wardrobe. They are essential because unlike a long boot they will work with a variety of items from jeans to skirts to dresses and more.

I like to have a few categories of booties in my closet each fall/winter because they meet all of my dressing needs from casual and fun to dressy or even work attire. Unlike heels a bootie will meet you where you need to be from dresses to jeans.

This is a new category I am adding this year. I think western booties were the pair I never knew I needed until I grabbed a pair a few weeks ago. Think of your western booties as your sneakers. Put them with dresses and other outfits that you thought they may not work with and just try it. Believe me they will fit and work with so many of your outfits!

White booties have become my fall and winter staple shoe. I love that they are a little edgy because I grew up with the “no white after labor day” rule. White, ivory, ecru and beige booties are the most versatile and to me I can wear them for dressy and casual occasions. I wear my white booties more than any other shoe I have in the fall.

Low Profile

I prefer to have a bootie with a lower profile when I am wearing skinny pants or even boot cut jeans. Because they sit under my ankle bone they hit in the perfect spot for jeans that aren’t cropped. They also look dressier to me when I am wearing skirts to I typically pick my low profile boots as my dressier pair for the fall and winter months. I picked these booties in 2019 and they are still available this year which means they are that perfect!

Flat / Low Heel

Flat boots are great to have because they are easy to wear for long periods of time but fit in that really casual category. I picked a pair this year that had a small heel on them because I have been finding the slight elevation on the heel is more comfortable for me than completely flat.

Animal Print

If you are wanting to invest in a printed bootie animal print is the way to go. Snake print is the most versatile and neutral and will work with just about any outfit you have.

Above all try on your booties and walk around in them before you buy them or decide you are keeping them. Uncomfortable booties are not worth having in your closet no matter how cute they are!
