Holiday Movie Night

There are so many events to attend during the holidays and then add to that the hustle and bustle of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Sometimes it is nice to have a warm night at home with your spouse or your kids and just watch a movie.

This time of the year there is nothing better than a Christmas movie to fill your evening. Christmas movies are classic and cute and when you talk about them someone always has a favorite.

This is my best Hallmark Movie Look

Christmas movies all have one thing in common… the feel good ending. Well most of them (P.S. Never watch that Christmas shoes one if you don’t like sad endings).

Before you even start the movie you know this; the boy is always going to get the girl, the business is going to be saved and the mystery will be solved. It just how it is. While the plots may be predictable it’s fun to watch these sweet movies that warm your heart during the holidays.

In years past Hallmark has been the go to destination for Christmas movies. The lsat few years HULU and Netflix have stepped it up offering their own Christmas love stories and family tales. This year with the addition of Disney + there are movies for everyone.

I have a few favorites of my own but my friend Jessica knows all things Christmas movies so I enlisted a little help from her on this blog post.

Noelle – Disney +

I watched this one with the boys a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed it. Anna Kendrick is cute and fun playing the daughter of Kris Kringle trying to help her brother prepare after he inherits his Dad’s job as Santa.

Let It Snow – Netflix

This movie reminded me so much of the fun teen movies from the 90’s like 10 Things I Hate About You and anything with Freddie Prince Jr. Everyone just wants to have an epic party the night before Christmas.

Klaus – Netflix

So cute and sweet. We watched this one with the boys too. An unlikely pair come together to deliver toys and end an age-old Feud.

A Christmas Love Story – Hallmark

Starring Kristen Chenoweth this story is about… a couple who falls in love! LOL. No seriously this movie is so cute as a choir director falls in love with one of her singers fathers.

A Christmas Prince – Netflix

There are three Christmas Prince Movies. The original, the wedding and not the royal baby this year. The movie is really sweet and the age old tale of investigative reporter who falls in love with a Prince from a country on the other side of the world.

The Perfect Movie Snack…

So if you are sitting down for a long winter’s movie watching session you probably want a snack. This is out favorite at home movie night treat…

Black Pepper & Parmesan Popcorn

  • You can make your own popcorn on the stove or use microwave. Either will work.
  • If you make your own. In a large pot with a top add 1 tbsp. of oil and 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels over medium heat. Shake the pan often to keep things from sticking. Usually takes about 5 minutes. Remove from heat when the popping stops.
  • Toppings: While the popcorn is still hot drizzle 1 1/2 tbsb of melted butter and toss. Top with salt and pepper and 1/3 of a cup of parmesan cheese. Toss again and serve hot.

Happy Movie Night!!
