Welcome to the Sunday Skim your weekly recap of all things style, home, entertaining, family, midlife, community and shopping.
Home. Last year my kids ate lunch at school. This year they have both asked to bring a lunch kit. I feel like I am really out of practice with making lunches and although it seems simple I run out of ideas. I love this option with baskets to let them pick the things they want each day.
Entertaining. The boys want to have a movie night for their birthday party this year. I am thinking about building them a concession stand like this for the festivities.
Family. I literally would never have thought of this. I hate having a baby pool in our yard because I never know how to empty it.
Midlife. I made a lot of changes the last few years of my 30’s and now stepping into my 40’s it’s exciting to be doing new things. I love being a blogger and while it may not be a traditional job I am getting to do something that inspires me. I was in a lot of jobs that didn’t inspire me so getting to do something I love has been a great experience. I think it’s hard sometimes to think about doing something completely new at certain parts in your life. 40’s don’t feel like the optimal time to be changing it up but it just may be the best thing you can do for yourself.
Community. Ever wanted to go to an event that is only about Mac & Cheese? Check this out.
Shopping. July is the month for shopping deals. The Nordstrom Sale opens July 12th to cardholders and July 19th opens to the public. I will be updating picks daily on LIKEtoKNOW.it so make sure you are following me. Also, if you have never shopping the sale before you can get all of the details here.
Prime Day on Amazon has been extended from one to two days which will be July 15th and 16th. I have created an Amazon Storefront for you to be able to shop my picks.
