Welcome to the Sunday Skim. Your weekly recap of all things style, home, entertaining, family, midlife, community and shopping.
What’s Been Happening. This was out first official week of summer. No one got sick which was a small miracle. We spent a lot of time in the sun and in the pool which is always magical. We were able to spend a little time with my mom who is newly retired and went to our favorite place, the Cool Zoo, on Friday. Peyton competed in chalk fest yesterday and we are excited to start our fourth VBS at Church of the King on Monday! It’s all fun and games and swim meets from now until August.
Home. I am about to paint the doors inside of our house and I am always unsure of where to start. Is there a method to the madness? I found this article by Sherwin Williams telling you the right way to paint a door.
Entertaining. I am hosting a luncheon in my home next weekend for a few ladies. I know how to set a table correctly, good southern upbringing, but it’s always good to have a visual like this.
Family. Filling summer days and weeks with fun things to do. I found this list of unique holidays you can celebrate with your kids.
Midlife. Are you into podcasts? I am trying to get there. I don’t have a lot of time to read anymore like I used to but I love books. I have been downloading a few audio books lately and am liking being able to listen to them when I am driving. I came across this list of podcasts this week and am adding a few of them to my list.
Community. How are we already looking at events for the fourth of July? Light up the Lake is one of our favorites. Check it out here.
