Welcome to the Sunday Skim. Your weekly recap of all things style, home, entertaining, family, community, midlife and shopping.
What’s Been Happening. Has anyone seen the meme about 30 days hap September except for May which has 1,384 days? This feels like my life currently. I am trying to tie up loose ends, go to the doctor, follow up with the school, attend events and buy gifts for all of the appropriate people. Whew. I know I am not the only one. The last few weeks of school I feel like my kids are as ready for summer as I am.
In case you missed it we launched the summer guide on Wednesday. Over the next few months we will add posts and printables and contests here. I am excited to start doing these guides seasonally and think they are a great addition to our brand.
Style/Shopping. Three favorite Zara bags for spring and summer. Vinyl Shopper // Woven Crossbody // Wooden handled Shopper
Home. Personally I think we have gone a little too far with the Game of Thrones thing but I love lemon and I love cake so it’s worth a try. Check out these Sansa Stark Lemon Cakes here.
Entertaining. Need side dish ideas for a Memorial Day or BBQ? This list has everything you need.
Family. Traveling next weekend? This may be your perfect playlist for the road trip.
Community. The Children’s Museum of St. Tammany is hosting their Chalk Fest Art Fest on June 1st. Peyton is excited to be participating as an artist. Register here.
Midlife. May is Melanoma Awareness Month. I am scheduling my yearly mole check with my dermatologist this week. Melanoma, when caught in early stages, generally has a high survival rate. Getting checked is the key. The Melanoma Research Foundation has more details here.
Love this recap! I made my dermatologist appointment too!
Looking forward to all the printables and fun summer activities!
