Welcome to the Sunday Skim! Your weekly recap of all things style, home, entertaining, family, community, midlife and shopping.
What’s Been Happening. This was spring break week. Spring Break really feels like a warm up to summer. We had a lot of fun doing projects and the weather has been so nice we have been playing outside a ton. Everyone in the house is obsessed with sidewalk chalk and everything is colored from my door to the grass. Looking forward to warm summer days soon!
Style. A good pair of denim shorts are a great staple for your spring and summer wardrobe. They can work for a variety of outfits. I styled these shorts three different way from casual to dressy.
Home. I am always interested in other blogs and what they write about. There are so many interesting blogs out there and lot of them write about really small niche subjects. This blog is all about paint colors and it is such an interesting topic. As someone who loves a colorful home I have spent hours pouring over paint chips trying to pick the perfect one. Having this site may help make those decision easier.
Entertaining. I am a gin drinker. I really love the floral taste that gin has and gin and tonic is one of my favorite drinks. I found two frozen gin and tonic options to make your next outdoor get together a little more fun. Gin and Tonic Sorbet // Gin and Tonic Popsicles
Family. I am not a big fan of cereal for breakfast because I feel like my kids need protein to start the day. However these seem fun and could be a good snack or a breakfast treat.
Community. The Children’s Museum of St. Tammany is hosting an event called Chalk Fest on May 4th. Participants can buy a 4×4 square to decorate for $25 but the public is welcome to come and view the art. You can buy a square or get more information here.
Midlife. This past week was National Infertility Week. Justin and I experienced a long period of infertility in our journey to become parents. If you or someone you know is experiencing infertility know that you are not alone. We are open and honest about our infertility and also our adoptions. If you have questions you can email me wefivekingsblog@gmail.com
Shopping. Come meet me this morning from 10 to 12 at LOFT Lakeside in Metairie. We will be styling outfits for Mother’s Day.
