Welcome to the Sunday Skim. Your weekly recap of all things style, home, entertaining, family, midlife, community and shopping.
What’s Been Happening. We lost Justin’s Uncle last week unexpectedly and he spent most of the week in Miami with his family paying his respects. We will miss him incredibly. We are just trying to remember the love that he gave us and hugging one another a little tighter.
Style. This summer you can find me in the palms. Palm print is on trend for spring and summer. It’s always a popular pattern for resort wear but currently you can find it on anything. I took some time to shop on amazon for some affordable palm print looks that I wanted to share with you. {This post contains affiliate links.}

Home. I am ready to get the grill out and make some food. Spring makes me want grilled chicken so bad. I love this recipe for whiskey pineapple chicken. Looks delicious!
Entertaining. I am always looking for new centerpiece ideas for my kitchen table. This article has so many cute ideas. #15 is my personal favorite and I may try to recreate it soon.
Family. The boys love to play tic tac toe and this little set would be easy to make and we could keep it on the patio!
Community. My photographer Melissa is on vacation this week which gave me the chance to work with someone new. Candra George is an amazing photographer and has worked on presidential campaigns and with Inside Northside and Inside New Orleans Magazine. More importantly though she is creator of the OWEL Project. OWEL shows girls opportunities and careers that are available to them as well as offering workshops for girls to navigate things like social media, bullying, applying for a job and so much more. During our photoshoot I had a chance to really hear Candra’s heart about her project and I am excited to be working on something with them soon. Also, stay turned for all of the fun pics we did together.
Shopping. If you are looking for the right Easter dress Eshakti has a lot of options that are currently on sale. One of the most fun things about their line is the patterns. They are always fun and fresh and make me think of spring. They also have an entire section of things that are on permanent sale at 50% off. All of their dresses are fully customizable and you can change anything from the sleeves, hem and neckline. These are my top three choices… one // two // three. If you want more information on the Eshakti process click here to read the review of the dress I just customized.
Hey girl! Can you recommend a palm kimono for us shorter ladies too? I love this look on you!
