When I think of Easter I think of dresses. I can remember being young and thinking about what kind of Easter dress I would wear. Each year my mom and I would go to the store and pick something out with new dress shoes. Even then it felt special to dress up and have something new for the spring and summer.
When I was 8 or 9 my mom bought me these white shoes with a small heel and these cute little pastel stripes. I felt so grown up and fancy when I wore them. I can still vividly picture them in my mind.
I still love Easter dresses and Easter Sunday. These days people just don’t dress up for church like they used to but I still try to find something fun and swanky for the family each year. We love to have brunch with my family after Easter service and we end the day with an Easter Egg hunt in my backyard. Easter is one of those holidays that feels special.
Although I love dresses I wanted to do something a little different this year. Menswear and suiting pieces have become a big trend and women are wearing them to red carpet events and more. I love when people experiment with fashion and women wear things that fit their personality and style. It’s also fun and exciting to do something a little out of our comfort zone now and then.
When I came across this suit I immediately wanted to style it for an Easter look. When we think of Easter hats it’s usually paired with a dress so I wanted to do a little bit of a different take and style the suit with a hat. This hat is vintage and was found for me by one of my Instagram followers. She knew my love for hats and sent me some pictures when she was at a antique show. It was in near perfect condition but the button on the front needs a change. I can’t wait to wear it!
