Family.  Are you hosting Thanksgiving dinner for the first time this year?  This is a great article on how to throw your first Thanksgiving dinner.  Keep up with the blog next week for my suggestions on menu and table décor.  For now you can check out the post I did last year here.

Food and Drink.  I did an Instagram story last week on how I make my gumbo.  If you missed it I saved it to the highlights under Recipes.  Gumbo is one of my favorite things to make in the fall and winter but our second favorite is my sweet potato and andouille sausage soup.

4 to 6 large sweet potatoes
1 package of andoulli (Richards is all I buy_
1 containers of chicken stock
1 large onion
4 cloves of garlic
1 pint of cream
cayenne pepper
chives

In the oven roast the sweet potatoes until you can easily put a fork or knife through them.  Scoop out the potato and set aside (you can discard the peels we won’t need them)  Take the andouille sausage and break it down in the food processor.  In a large stock pot add a small amount of oil and the crumbled sausage.  Cook until brown and remove sausage from the post, leave the drippings.  Take your onions and garlic and add to the pot and sauté.  When opinions are translucent add chicken stock and sweet potatoes and let pot simmer for 30 minutes.  Add cream and 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper (I usually add 1/2 to 3/4 tsp).  Blend soup with an immersion blend until thick.  Add andoulli back into the soup and serve with chives.

Health.  I have been having a few gut issues and am starting to drink bone broth again in the mornings.  Have you ever looked into the benefits of bone broth?  This is a great article on some of the benefits of bone broth.

NewsThis is really interesting…

Home.  I cannot get on board with bed skirts in the boys bedrooms but I love the idea of being able to cover the box spring.  This looks like the perfect solution.
