Sunday Skim

The Sunday Skim 12/17/17

It’s one week until Christmas Eve and the day for my annual Cookie Decorating Party!  Follow our Instagram story today to keep up with all of the fun and my super cute outfit!  Now get your coffee and enjoy the Sunday Skim.

Fashion…  Are you looking for the perfect and funny Christmas dress?  Target has an amazing variety of dresses and jumpsuits this year.  Here are a few of my favorite… Velvet Jumpsuit // Velvet Top // Holiday Sweater Dress

Family… So school is out as of Wednesday in our area so we are looking for ways to fill our days.  I have been saving things on Pinterest to keep everyone busy.  These are a few of the good ones I have found.  Christmas Scavenger Hunt // Jingle Bell Toss // Rice Krispie Ginger Bread House // Christmas bingo // Christmas Tree Cones

Health…  I am getting my plans together to hit the ground running in January with continuing my heath journey.  I have been talking to Gretchen with C620 Nutrition about the next steps with my food and workouts to get the maximum results from my workouts.  If you are looking for a place to change your diet and workout routine check them out… here.

Food and Drink… Luke and Marci Hildalgo are opening a new restaurant in Mandeville called Hambone.  I got to try some of their food and drinks at the Girod Street Sips of the Season last weekend and it left me wanting more.  Each business that participated had a signature winter cocktail and the Hidalgo’s were kind enough to share their cocktail recipe with me.  You can check out Hambone on Instagram here and we will keep you posted when they open.

The Hambone Satsuma Whiskey Smash:

  • 2oz. fresh squeezed satsuma juice
  • 1.5 oz. whiskey of your choice
  • A splash of sour into muddled mint and satsuma supremes

News…  Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced this week that their wedding will take place on May 19th.  I for one cannot wait.  All of the details are here.

Social…  Christmas Eve is one week from tomorrow.  I love Christmas day but Christmas Eve is equally a favorite of mine.  Our church puts on an amazing Christmas presentation each year and it’s always packed.  This year because Christmas Eve is on a Sunday we are going to the morning service and then brunch at the Lakehouse.  If you are looking for a place to spend Christmas Eve or just want to attend a service in the days before Church of the King offers 5 services on the holiday weekend.  You can find the whole schedule here.
