Fashion…  Velvet is everywhere for holiday dressing.  I have several velvet outfits picked out for holiday parties and teas.  Cannot wait for the holiday parties to start.  Basically everyone needs the perfect little holiday party velvet dress.  Here are a few options.

Social…  It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas!  We booked our seats for the Northshore Parent Holiday Tea on November 26th.  This event really kicked off our Christmas season last year and we will be attending the 2:00 seating.  Click here for more information and to purchase your tickets.

Also, this isn’t happening until March but I met Tracy and Barbara the organizers of the New Orleans Bourbon Festival at Harvest Cup Polo Classic last weekend.  You really need to be following them on facebook for updates but the event will be taking place from March 8 – 11.  I had a chance to sit down and talk to them for a while and it sounds like an amazing event.  I know we are planning on being there!

Food and Drink…  I am hosting a brunch today, look for a post this week on the blog, and it’s going to be all ladies and kids which means we get to make all the lady type foods we want which is so much fun.  I am making two types of quiche and I’m hungry thinking about them.  The thing I love about quiche is that if you get down a basic recipe of the eggs and cream you can make any kind of quiche you want.  I am making a red pepper, asparagus and brie and also a crab, cream cheese and green onion.  Another favorite of mine is spinach, onion, bacon and feta.  Here is the basic rule of thumb I follow when making quiche… 4 to 6 large eggs, 1 to 1/2 cup cream or half and half, salt and pepper.  I add all of this to my quiche dish and then add whatever ingredients I want.  I bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes.  No time for to wait?  No problem!  You can make this into a frittata in one quick step.  Grab a pan that can go in the oven.  Cook on the stove for 5 minutes and then add to a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.  Half the time and still the same great recipe!

Family…  Love to travel and want to teach your kids to love to travel too?  We just found this amazing magazine and I can’t wait to read!  You can follow them on Facebook here.

News…  This kitty cat looks like she is finally going to get the recognition she deserves!  Check it out here.
