Making Maxi’s Work Long After Summer

A Maxi dress can really be your closets best asset…  In a pinch they are easy to throw on and make you feel more pulled together!

T-shirt dresses are a wardrobe staple for any mom.  Over the summer I had purchased several t-shirt style maxi dresses from Amazon and I really fell in love with them.  Browsing around I saw that the same dress was available in a long sleeved option and I went ahead and purchased it even though I was not completely sold seeing it online.

A tip about shopping for clothes on Amazon.  If you don’t have a specific brand in mind and are just shopping around it’s good to check what the return policy is.  If I am buying something and have never purchased an item from that brand before I am really careful to make sure what the return policy is.  Amazon will take anything back but they won’t always take it back for free.  Read the fine print under the shipping information and it will tell you if the item you are purchasing is available for free returns.

So back to this dress.  It came in the mail and I was pleasantly surprised how great it was.  I loved the short sleeved option over the summer because the fabric was so soft.  The long sleeved version was exactly the same.  After purchasing the first one I realized that they ran very large and had sized down after I received and returned the first one.  I opted to size down for this dress to just to be on the safe side and it was a good choice.  I am wearing a small in this picture.

Styling… So for this picture I kept it kind of plain just adding a necklace and a hat but you really could go so many directions with a dress like this.  Think vests, a moto jacket, scarves, flats or even sneakers.  It’s such a blank canvas that you really could put a lot of different accessories with it.  Also, knotting the bottom at the hem to expose the shoes a little more would be a fun little option.  Basically you can’t go wrong when you are styling this one…

Looking forward to the days getting shorter, the nights cooler and the autumn leaves falling.  Have a wonderful week!
